Starbrook-Airlines: The Story

The chocolate with a story !

1914 : the Belgian Jan-Baptist Learoy is settling in Santa Barbara – California. He bought a Curtis Jenny JN4

Jack Leroy and his brother1932 : His sons , Emile and Jack Learoy were flying a "de Havilland DH4" for the U.S. Airmail services. This work was highly hazardous. The brothers dreamed to start their own Airmail company ‘ Starbrook Airlines’.

1948 : After World War 2 huge stocks of military C-47 transports and spares were to be found at various depots. Emile and Jake became the proud owners of one DC-3. Restoration works took 8 months.

1950 : Forced landing on an island near Howland-South Pacific. Props and landing gear completely bended.

1951 : While repairing the damaged DC-3, the brothers started also decorating works on their small airport. New furniture was created with aluminium parts.

1952 : Press release of the "Starbrook Airline Furniture Collection" . Starbrook Airlines regains the sky with the repaired DC-3.

Lady1998 : Delicious Belgian chocolate is introduced on the market in wonderful packing designed by Jack Learoy. Illustrations are based on the adventures , the airplanes and the people he met during his live as pilot.

2005 : Delicious Starbrook Airlines chocolate is now available worldwide.
