The chocolate company Starbrook Airlines was founded in 1998 as part of a larger family Gilis owned fine foods group. The contact between Jaak De Koninck, the Belgian artist, painter and furniture designer ( see www.starbrook-airlines.com ) and Patrick Gilis resulted in the creation of a range of chocolate products under the brand name “Starbrook Airlines”.

In a retro style, stewardesses, pilots and airplanes evoke the style of the early 50’s aviation era. All the packaging design developed by Jaak De Koninck in a creative aquarelle style is outstanding and totally different from what the traditional, somewhat conservative chocolate market is actually supplying. The concept of Starbrook Airlines can be found on the total range of products and merchandising material. The concept is so thoroughly elaborated that even the display material is completely in line with the design. Aluminum displays in airplane material, reinforce even the look of Starbrook Airlines.
