The company

Founded in 1998 as part of a larger family Gilis owned fine foods group since 1909.

The contact between Jaak De Koninck, the Belgian artist, and Patrick Gilis resulted in the creation of a range of chocolate products under the brand name  - “ Starbrook Airlines ”, later on ‘ Classic Wheels’ and ‘ Fleet ‘.

Distribution 

Internationally growing brand: high end & department stores, deli & specialty shops, chocolate shops.
The company has worldwide distribution, 76 countries and 170 airports, border shops and cruise & ferry lines.
Nr 4 in Brussels Sky Shops, biggest chocolate shop in the world.

It’s major customers are the most important travel retail retailers & airports (170 about), airlines, high quality chocolate shops, high street  - department stores and other specialised retailers.

Classic Wheels :
It’s major customers are the most important retailers and chains as also the regular shops.

The concept

In a retro style, stewardesses, pilots and airplanes evoke the style of the early 50’s aviation era.
All the packaging design developed by Jaak De Koninck in a creative aquarelle style is outstanding and totally different from what the traditional, somewhat conservative chocolate market is actually supplying.
Such creative and innovative packaging deserves the highest quality Belgian chocolate and vice versa!
The brands Classic Wheels Belgian Chocolates and Fleet Belgian Chocolates are art spin offs of Starbrook Airlines.

Starbrook Airlines Chocolate is expertly hand crafted using the finest quality Belgian chocolate, containing the best raw materials and hand selected fine grade cocoa beans.
Milk chocolate made with origin chocolate from Sierra Leone, Ghana, Togo, Nigeria, Cameroon, Gabon, Sao Thome and Congo .
Dark origin chocolate from Ivory Coast , Ghana and Equatorial Guinea.
While other chocolate producers use full-automatic lines, we opted for ultramodern stand-alone machines equipped by our famous chocolate masters – called chocolatiers.
Hence, the Starbrook Airlines chocolates are still made in a semi-artisan way.

100% pure cocoa butter based chocolate, no artificial coloring agents, preservative-free, GM-free.

The quality of our products is also guaranteed by the fact that only real chocolate, Belgian chocolate is used! We signed ‘ The Belgian Chocolate Code ‘ who says it is forbidden to use other then Belgian Chocolate.
