Starbrook-Airlines: Our BusinessThe history of the company The chocolate company Starbrook Airlines was founded in 1998. The contact between Jaak De Koninck, the Belgian artist, painter and furniture designer and Patrick Gilis resulted in the creation of a range of chocolate products under the brand name “ Starbrook Airlines”. In a retro style, stewardesses, pilots and airplanes evoke the style of the early 50’s aviation era. All the packaging design developed by Jaak De Koninck in a creative aquarelle style is outstanding and totally different from what the traditional chocolate market is actually supplying. The concept of Starbrook Airlines can be found on the total range of products and merchandising material. The concept is so thoroughly elaborated that even the display material is completely in line with the design. Aluminum displays in airplane material, reinforce even the look of Starbrook Airlines This unique feature is the most appropriate way to make this range of products an excellent seller and performer. Starbrook current distribution & news Starbrook is looking for establishing a long lasting business relationship with a dedicated organization - importer – partner in each country. Synergies have to be found and a good way of merchandising to support the product as a total concept. This can be different for each POS. Starbrook Airlines is one of the performers in Travel Retail! Not only sales are raising but very positive comments and judgments have been sent through the world by leading captains of TR industry. Starbrook is a unique concept for Travel Retail! At Belgian Sky Shops - Brussels Airport we almost tripled sales in 2004. In 2005 again sales raised with 30% in this chocolate key airport ! Normal we would say. We are giving them maximum support because they give us maximum exposure and that is what Starbrook needs to perform as total concept. 2006 is the year of worldwide expansion. In Europe important operators as Aldeasa, Heinemann and Aer Rianta came aboard on top of the others. Chase International, Inc. , our US Duty Free importer , listed our products in many important airports including ARI JFK, DFASS DTR, Duty Free International, EJE Travel Retail, Nuance and a number of Canadian Border operators as well. Starboard Cruise Services (US) will have some unique Belgian chocolate cruise ships, also an achievement of Chase International and our product development department. Asia is becoming more and more a key market for Starbrook Airlines because of our presence on a lot of Asian airlines and because of having found a fabulous partner in King Power. For example our beautiful gondola’s in Changi Airport are one of the important accomplished merchandising projects with them. People’s reactions are great. Australia started in September with Rosco Fine Foods as importer. In the Middle East Abu Dhabi and Dubai are our main bastions. We could say that we have found partners almost world wide. In Belgium Starbrook Airlines is available in a large number of high end chocolate stores and delicacies shops and as we mentioned in Brussels Airport. Today we are moving to a new distribution centre of 3000m². Latest technologies are installed in this modern and eye-catching plant.
